Ready for SVR?

The Scottish Variable Rate, or SVR, is a method enacted in the Scotland Act 2012 to enable the Scottish Government to adjust the basic rate of tax up or down.

Also known as the Tartan Tax, the Scottish parliament’s power to vary the tax rate ‘lapsed’ in 2007 when the Scottish Government refused to pay HMRC for the necessary IT upgrade.

The latest version of Coroni’s payroll application supports SVR as well as National Insurance and other statutory changes introduced by the Chancellor and HMRC.
